Capstone Turbine Selects FireChill as OEM for Small Scale Absorption Chilling Packages

CHATSWORTH, Calif., Dec. 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, has entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with FireChill to produce ammonia absorption chilling packages powered by microturbines for combined cooling, heating, and power applications (CCHP).

FireChill, based in the United Kingdom, has developed the PowerChill 65 (www.firechill.com/wp-content/files/PowerChill_65.pdf) modular system, a pre-engineered, factory assembled and tested product that integrates Capstone C65 microturbines and FireChill's ALT500 chillers into a system that can quickly and easily be installed onsite.

"The PowerChill 65 will fill a void in the market that is not being met by other products. It is well below the size range of the UTC/Carrier PureComfort product. It is also a much different technology as it uses ammonia and not Lithium Bromide as the working fluid.
